Details have finally been released about the Alien TV series expected next year, along with a teaser that gives nothing away.
Alien: Earth will be set in the not too-distant future and as the name suggests, everyone’s favourite xenomorph has reached our home planet. The series will follow a young woman, played by Sydney Chandler, and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers who discover the crashed space ship containing the invader.
Showrunner Noah Hawley has said he’s expecting a multi-season series to tell the story, with one eye on the original Alien movie rather than the more immediate events of Prometheus and Covenant. Hawley, who has previously worked on Fargo and Legion, will be under the watchful eye of Ridley Scott who is an EP on the series.
Joining Chandler in the cast will be Andor’s Alex Lawther, The Sandman’s Samuel Blenkin and Australia’s own lady detective, Miss Fisher’s Essie Davis.
Alien: Earth is a joint venture between US networks FX and Hulu, which means it may screen in Australia on either Disney+ or Binge sometime in 2025. We’ll keep you updated.
