A trailer has been released for what has been described as a British version of Fallout.
Atomfall is a survival-action game set in a picturesque English village some time after a horrific accident at a nuclear power plant. The local population includes a pagan cult and the remnants of the military force sent in after the disaster, which the player must navigate to solve the mystery at the game’s core.
The game replicates the self-guided experience of Fallout but is split across interconnected maps (including underground bunkers) rather than completely open world. Instead of a quest, the storyline has more of a murder-mystery feel – as quintessentially British as the red phone booth featured at the start of the game.
Game studio Rebellion points to a wide range of influences on the game, ranging from classic Doctor Who to The Wicker Man and The Day of the Triffids.
Atomfall is expected to release on PC, PlayStation and Xbox sometime March 2025. We’ll keep you updated.
