Getting Mission Ready

Those in surrounding businesses go about their day oblivious that around them strange new worlds are being explored and starship combat waged.

This is the ISDC Academy’s training facility, where tactics are being honed and technology pushed to the limits in powerful simulators, so that Endeavour will be ready for any challenge deep space has to offer.

Simulation training has been an integral part of every space program and while Endeavour’s mission happens within an immersive sci-fi environment, it must be complex enough to provide realism while remaining accessible for participants.

This means the crew will need an understanding of systems, tactics and strategy to succeed on their mission. The Academy delivers this, as well as an opportunity to test and refine vessel systems as they’re developed.

The simulators use the same systems that will be found on Endeavour. Initially focussed on fundamental helm and tactical systems, the modular facility will expand over time to include engineering, operations and science.

Choose Your System

Once qualified on a system, members can join or create a team with those qualified on complementary systems. Teams can book time in the simulators and choose from a growing range of mission scenarios, run by the Mission Operations team or competitively against other teams.

And if the ultimate goal is to be part of Endeavour’s crew, members can extend the sim experience by pursuing a virtual career, supported by the ISDC’s training and development program.
