Doctor Who Game Trailer

Doctor Who Edge of Reality has released another gamepaly trailer.

One of the developers involved in this had previously released a made for mobile game which appears to just be puzzles.

This one looks like an attempt to deliver something of a similar style but with a first person controllable character.

Doctor Who preferring to avoid violence as much as possible, it's surprising to see you take control of a Dalek at least for a time and are shooting things in this game.

Foundation Concept Art

Creative Bloq interviews Foundation concept artist, Stephan Martiniere.

They discuss the creative process from inception to end result and some of the challenges that entails.

For example, with the sci-fi space becomes increasingly crowded, it likewise becomes much more difficult to create a unique aesthetic for a franchise.

Apple's real world design aesthetic of clean simplicity influenced some of Foundation's concept art.

Foundation Renewed

The Holywood Reporter brings us the news that Apple's Foundation series has been renewed for a second season.

Though they claim that the renewal announcement is slightly faux:

Sources note the drama was actually quietly renewed in November, 2019, in order to keep the expansive production on track.

Lost in Space S3 Trailer

Lost in Space has released a teaser trailer for season 3.

There's not a lot to say about its contents. As advertised, they tease.

Though it does reveal that it will release this December.

Seasons one and two were very solid. Hopefully the third will be equally polished and satisfying.

Three seasons may be a disappointingly short run for a good show but it potentially guarantees Lost in Space instant modern classic status and immense rewatch value.

New Star Trek Docuseries

A new documentary series, The Center Seat, exploring the history of Star Trek has been announced celebrating it's 55th Anniversary.

It promises new, never before seen behind the scenes details.

Don't they always?!

Though if you listen to the interview excerpts in the trailer there are a few new gems.

Brent Spiner (Data):
I still find gold in my, you know, various pores.

Now that's dedication.

Final Dune Trailer

WarnerBros have released the final Dune trailer.

Many sci-fi fans would already be familiar with the story from either books or earlier films so there's nothing surprising in it.

However there is an interesting quote attributed to Collider.com:

The next Star Wars, Lord of the Rings is here.

Earlier films in those franchises were great and big hits but later ones not so much. Was this intended as a favourable comparison?

Sontarans Invade Liverpool

Radio Times report that the BBC yesterday (October 6 UK) projected an enormous Sontaran ship onto Liverpool's George’s Pier Head as another season 13 teaser.

The BBC have also revealed that Liverpool was chosen for the ship projection because that's where season 13 will begin and where the Doctor will meet a new character played by UK comedian John Bishop.

We still have no news on Doctor Who's release date beyond it being this year.

Shatner Being NSFW

Anderson Cooper has tweeted a video of him interviewing William Shatner about his upcoming space flight.

Fair warning, the language gets slightly adult.

Following on from comments on the shape of the rocket, Shatner says that, "We're inseminating the space program." Plus some stuff about insertions and probing.
