Happy what now?

Anyone could be forgiven for being unaware of this one - we were - but it's the day Bioware celebrate their Mass Effect computer roleplaying game series, which has long been one of the more popular in the sci-fi genre.

50 Years of Gaming Joy

UK's Golden Joystick Awards are celebrating 50 years of gaming (not awards) with an international poll for the "Ultimate Game of All Time" and "Best Gaming Hardware of All Time".

Voting is now open on the GamesRadar website, and will close 10 AM on November 13 AEDT (11 PM GMT on November 12).

Vulcan's Hammer

Move over Star Trek. There's soon to be a new Vulcan on the sci-fi block.

Francis Lawrence, director of The Hunger Games, is now set to direct a film adapation of Philp K. Dick's Vulcan's Hammer.

Rogue Delayed

By way of Hollywood ReporterWonder Woman director Patty Jenkins was to have begun shooting the next Star Wars film Rogue Squadron in 2022, with an expected release date of December 22, 2023.

That's no longer happening.

The 100 Prequel Canned

TV Line report that US TV network The CW have decided to pass on The 100 prequel.

Warner Bros. could try to find another service to pick it up but there's no information about that right now.

Stranger Things 4 Teaser

Netflix have released their latest teaser for Stranger Things season 4.

We see Eleven starting life at a new school with ubiquitious bullies, men in black types trying to restrain her, armed soldiers and explosions.

PCGamer have published an interview with Star Wars: The Old Republic creative director Charles Boyd.

As their article title sugggests, they have no plans to shut down.

When it's Station 11.

What's that? A new HBO show which they dropped a trailer for earlier this week.

Initally we dismissed it. While it's being described by some as "sci-fi" we could see no trace of it in the trailer.

Star Trek Doco Interview

Space.com has published an insightful and frank interview with Brian Volk-Weiss, the director of the new Star Trek documentary, The Center Seat: 55 Years of Star Trek' series.

It's much more than a standard documentary film. It's a 10 part docu-series airing on The History Channel in the US.
