Disney Walk Out

In relation to Disney's financial support of legislators behind Florida's don't say gay bill, some Disney staff walked out yesterday.

It's a horrible bill and we're happy to see it protested but there are some very interesting layers to this story.

Edgerunners Blip

With CD Projekt Red this week announcing their next game in The Witcher universe, we half-expected to also hear news about Netflix's Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series set in the same world as CDPR's Cyberpunk 2077.

Sure enough, a few articles appeared based on a tweet from the Netflix Geeked account.

Pacific Rim Cancelled

Netflix anime series Pacific Rim: The Black has received an April 19 release date for season 2 - nice - but also been cancelled into the bargain. Bummer.

Based on the popular Guillermo del Toro film with giant interdimensional monsters being combatted by giant human built and piloted robots, we found the series which is set in Australia to be quite decent.

Sumerian Records & Films have acquired comic book and gaming company Behemoth.

Do they want to get into comic books and games? Not especially. They are keen to make more film and TV content and increasingly comic books are seen as solid source material.

Strange Avatar Trailer

Hollywood newsletter, The Ankler claim that the first trailer for the extremely long awaited Avatar sequel will screen with Marvel's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in May.

That there will be such a trailer is certain. It premiering in cinemas would not be unusual. Being paired with a big release like Doctor Strange would make sense.

A New Sci-Fi Universe

There's more than a few of those - sci-fi universes - banging about so you might not be especially excited by the prospect of every new one.

But this one's a little bit different. Former Mass Effect trilogy and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic director Casey Hudson has formed his own studio and they've unveiled plans for a new game.
