Glitch Release Date

Netflix have announced an October 7 release date for new Korean sci-fi comedy / drama / mystery series Glitch.

Which sees the main character turn to a UFO community to help find her boyfriend after he vanishes in a flash of light.

Edgy Cyber Update

Action roleplaying game Cyberpunk 2077 has just rolled out a major update titled Edgerunners which ties in with the Netflix Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime series releasing on the 13th.

Most notably this update includes a wardrobe / transmog system and on PC, the long-awaited official mod tools called REDmod.

Steelrising Surprise?

We've commented on soon to launch souls-like Steelrising on a few occasions as a possibly interesting retrofuturistic steam-punk alternate history France action roleplaying game. Quite the mouthful.

Star Trek Day

September 8 is Star Trek Day and there will be a livestreamed special event commencing locally on September 9 at 3 a.m. AEST.

Their schedule covers all of the current TV shows and a tribute to Nichelle Nichols. No mention of the stuck in development hell Star Trek film or other new series previously announced to be in development like Starfleet Academy.

Hugos Haul

This year's Hugo Awards for science fiction and fantasy have been announced. Primarily for books they include categories for short and long form dramatic presentations.

With The Expanse winning the former for its season five finale Nemesis Games - it's second win out of five nominations - and Dune the latter.

Quantum Google Glitch

While checking the script for our next shoot, we chanced upon an ironic google glitch relating to the upcoming time and body hopping series Quantum Leap.

The show's co-star Caitlin Bassett appears to have leapt into the body of the former Australian netball team captain. Who goes by the same name.

Babylon 5 Secret Project

Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski has twitter teased (can we call that tweased?) a secret Babylon 5 project which is finished but won't be revealed until next year's San Diego Comic Con.

Which he describes as "100% crescent fresh".

Quantum Leap

In the US Quantum Leap will be leaping back onto screens after a 29 year absence on September 19.

As you would expect there are advertisements and some of those are making their way online - we have a Desert Storm paratrooper and an 80s female rock singer.

Animation Emmys

Winners of little league Emmys - or Creative Arts Emmys - were announced over the weekend and sci-fi scored eight wins in animation.

Netflix beat long-time kings of animation Disney to pick up the first Best Animated Program win for a streaming show for Arcane.

Artemis I Scrub II

After a recurrence of one of the two problems which saw the first Artemis I launch scrubbed - a hydrodgen leak on an umilical quick disconnect - the second was also scrubbed.

NASA made three attempts to fix the problem during launch but ultimately called it off and ruled out any further launch attempts in early September.
