Dune Survival

Creative Director of the upcoming Dune MMO (massively multiplayer online game) Joel Bylos has sat down for an interview with PC Gamer and dished some of the first details we have about this title.

Many are expected, like survival being dependant on water and spice. Also avoiding worms. But there were two worthy of attention.

Heart v Hogwarts

Last week developers of retro futuristic soviet action roleplaying game Atomic Heart released what we regarded as a clever advertisement taking aim at their biggest competitor, fantasy action roleplaying game Hogwarts Legacy set in the Harry Potter universe.

This week one website, True Achievements, is claiming some degree of success but this is definitely one of those instances of lies, damn lies and statistics.

La Brea Off La Block

Reports earlier this month indicated that shot in Victoria sci-fi drama La Brea had been renewed for a third and likely final season. Shorter courtesy of an impending writer's strike.

Showrunner David Applebaum now contradicts those reports.

Saggy Sci-Fi

Following exceptional performance at the Critics Choice Awards and Directors Guild Awards, but largely missing out at the Golden Globes and BAFTAs, Everything Everywhere All at Once dominated at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Winning four out of the five film categories.

Amazon's electrifying upcoming series The Power starring Australia's Toni Collette now has a trailer.

Their tagline is "Power Saves. Power Corrupts. Power Liberates."

Mild Megan and Nick

Comedy couple Megan Mullally (Will and Grace, Parks and Recreation) and Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) heve joined the cast for the fourth and final season of Netflix's Umbrella Academy.

As "a pair of mild-mannered Midwestern community college professors".

Sony's State of Play

Today Sony livestreamed their latest State of Play which included trailers for eight sci-fi titles. Listed below.

But we'll take a closer look at two of particular interest - a newly revealed Foundation (Asimov) VR2 game and upcoming action roleplaying antihero title, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.

Super Nominations

Last month the Critics Choice Association showered indie sci-fi film Everything Everywhere All at Once with five wins out of fourteen nominations in their general awards.

In their Super Awards dedicated to fantasy, sci-fi, horror and action, Everything only received four nominations, tied with Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness in third place behind Black Panther: Wakanda Forever with five and The Batman with six.

Everything Auction

Indie studio A24 who brought us Everything Everywhere All at Once are auctioning that film's props for charity (Laundry Workers Center, Transgender Law Center and Asian Mental Health Project).

Included are hot dog fingers and the Auditor of the Month / butt plug trophy.
