Today, courtesy of myth debunking website Snopes, we have unusual entertainment news.

There is a YouTube video purporting to show Albert Einstein predicting the fall of the moon.

Moonfall.

Does that sound a bit familiar?

Indeed this is a marketing exercise for the upcoming Roland Emmerich film, Moonfall.

Published on the 10th, at the time of writing this piece, the video only has 940 views and 6 comments, two of which appear to have been deleted.

Those two deletions might constitute the full extent of belief in this fakery. The remaining comments are safely in skeptical territory.

It's interesting that Snopes would bother to debunk this.

But perhaps better than anyone they know how belief in even the patently absurd can run rampant.
