Winners of little league Emmys - or Creative Arts Emmys - were announced over the weekend and sci-fi scored eight wins in animation.

Netflix beat long-time kings of animation Disney to pick up the first Best Animated Program win for a streaming show for Arcane.

Though from its name you might regard it as fantasy, the show's co-creator Christian Linke regards it as multi-genre and "super sci-fi".

We regard it as excellent and the win as well deserved.

Arcane also received three Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation (Juried) awards for episodes The Boy Savior, Happy Progress Day! and When These Walls Come Tumbling Down.

Netflix picked up two more awards for Love, Death & Robots: Jibaro - Outstanding Short Form Animated Program and Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation (Juried).

We previously recommended skipping that episode for its extraordinarily graphic violence but maybe you'll want to see its exquisite award-worthy animation.

Amazon's The Boys Diabolical also took home an Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation (Juried) for Boyd in 3D.

Did Disney miss out entirely?

No, the mouse wasn't sent home empty-handed.

Chadwick Boseman received a posthumous Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance award for What If...?: "What If... T'Challa Became a Star-Lord?

The big league Emmys will be awarded on September 12.
