Bethesda Retiring Launcher
Posted By:

Game development studio Bethesda have announced the closure of their dedicated launcher in May and that all games purchased on it can be migrated to Steam beginning in April.

This marks the end of their attempt to compete with Steam as an electronic storefront and retain the sizeable cut of revenues which Steam claim.

According to PC World the Bethesda.net launcher was bug riddled and difficult to use at release back in 2018 and in combination with various Fallout 76 problems, never really stood a chance.

Plus Steam offers the simple convenience of a single client and login to manage all games.

While this marks the end of Bethesda's own little storefront experiment, their new owners Microsoft will doubtless continue this war on a much grander scale.
