Chloé Zhao has posted an image on Instagram of a creepy looking fellow possibly on horseback.

Sure, why not?

Well if like us you hadn't been aware that she's working on a unique take on the vampire genre, this gets that message out there.

Vampire films are so numerous that we couldn't easily find a total.

Wikipedia has a list of them and states that there are currently over 170 based just on Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Finding a new angle would not be easy in this overcrowded genre but she may have done it. From Hollywood Reporter earlier this year:

Zhao’s version is described as an original, futuristic, sci-fi Western. Themes of being on society’s fringes, something Zhao has tackled in her previous work, will course through the project’s veins.

Definitely haven't seen that before.

Since she's clearly aiming high in the originality department, maybe this one won't be full of young lasses swooning over old dead men.
