Critics Choice Noms
Posted By:

Nominees for the 28th Critics Choice Awards have been announced and sci-fi did not fare especially well.

Andor, Severance and Prey picked up a pair of nominations each, and The Boys, 1899, Harley Quinn, Star Trek: Lower Decks, What We Do in the Shadows and Station Eleven one each.

NOTE: In horrific error we missed film nominations entirely and sci-fi fared quite well there. Realising this only after winners were announced we'll just point anyone seeing this now to our post on that.

Though Station Eleven's author doesn't regard it as sci-fi and we agree, and What We Do in the Shadows is great but more supernatural than sci-fi.

1899 reportedly includes a late in the series sci-fi twist. Having not had time to watch it ourselves yet we're trusting those reports until we can.

One bright note for sci-fi fans - half of the Best Actor in a Drama Series nominees are from sci-fi shows, so the genre is clearly drawing major talent.

Though there are no sci-fi nominations for Best Actress in a Drama Series.
