Following the walk out and other protests against Disney's support of legislators behind Florida's don't say gay bill, Disney publicly opposed the bill.

Florida's Governor DeSantis explicitly retaliated by repealing Walt Disney World's special district status.

Seemingly it wouldn't really change much except for shifting about a billion dollars of debt from the district to one of the local counties, but was an openly very hostile move.

Disney have also made some senior staffing changes, the specifics of which aren't especially interesting except for their Executive Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility now reporting directly to CEO Bob Chapek.

Which signals that social responsibility is now structurally more important to the company.

Also on this front, Saudi censors have asked Disney to cut 12 seconds of content from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, in which a gay character acknowledges her two mothers.

Disney refused to cut gay characters from Eternals and accepted the ban so we'd expect the same here.
