The repeatedly delayed and helm-swapped next Star Wars film Rogue Squadron has been officially removed from Disney's release schedule.

Deadline - who tend to be reliable - report that the film hasn't been cancelled and remains in development.

Given its history and the current sorry state of Star Wars, cancellation wouldn't be surprising.

Previosuly it had been slated for a 2023 December release alongside the also stuck in development hell next Star Trek film.

That leaves Taika Waititi's untitled Star Wars film as officially next in line.

Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy this year claimed it would release late 2023 but following that writer and director Taika expressed doubt whether it would be made at all.
