Gotham Knights Skills
Posted By:

Courtesy of the Amazon UK listing for the Gotham Knights Official Collector's Edition book we have some new info about character skills in the upcoming open world action roleplaying game.

Specifically Batgirl (again) and Nightwing.

Previously we only knew that each character had three skill trees plus a Knight tree.

Batgirl

Statistics
Strengths: Expert hacker, one-on-one combat master, strong defensive abilities
Melee Weapon: Tonfa
Ranged Weapon: Batarangs
Ultimate: Healing Drone
Heroic Traversal: Cape Glide.

Strategic and methodical, Batgirl is a well-balanced fighter who uses her tonfa with remarkable efficiency. She augments her solid defensive and offensive abilities with her skills as a hacker. This makes her excellent at infiltration and intel gathering.

Her ultimate being a heal is news.

And it sounds like there could be information and possibly other options which are only available through hacking.

Will there be some hacking options which only she has, or will she just be able to hack more easily?

Now Nightwing.

In Combat

Nightwing's greatest attribute is his acrobatic prowess. His evade maneuver is so effective, a light turret has a tough time getting a bead on him. Master his pounce ability to deal massive damage without touching the ground. Dive into his Pack Leader and Knighthood Ability Trees to find great improvements for co-op play.

The Raptor Ability Tree provides enhancements for pounce such as pounce high jump, which adds an automatic high jump on the enemy, allowing the player the option to perform an aerial attack or use his glider, the Flying Trapeze. More enhancements allow the player to bounce off an enemy up to three times and increase damage done by aerial attacks.

The Acrobat Ability Tree improves on Nightwing's already spectacular acrobatics. With evade chain, evade up to three times in quick succession. Once more improvements become available later in the Acrobat Ability Tree, Nightwing gains extra momentum and deals damage with his final evade.

Begin the Pack Leader tree with Nightwing's heal-over-time and damage-over-time darts. These darts are a great addition for co-op - they heal allies while also doing science damage over time on hostiles. Later, Nightwing's dart can be used to instantly revive an ally from afar. Assassin's mark, available early on the Ability Tree, provides a damage bonus for all allies. Momentum regeneration restores momentum for him and his allies.

With Knighthood, Nightwing improves his co-op benefits with the nest ultimate ability. This creates a protective nest-like area for him and his allies. Most of his Knighthood Ability Tree enhances the nest ability, though Nightwing can also increase the number of darts shot at once.

After completing Knighthood challenges, Nightwing downloads specs for the Batwing and builds a personal glider. This glider is used as his Heroic Traversal, allowing the player characters to glide farther than ever with just the grapple. Pull back on the stick to increase altitude; press forward to flip down.

Again a healing ultimate.

Also non-ultimate heals and other specifically multiplayer oriented abilities.

Multiplayer isn't just a tacked on extra.

They're taking it seriously.

Science as a damage type and evade and momentum mechanics.

An upgraded traversal ability. Fascinating.

And not just Robin will be able to move upwards.

Speaking of Robin, we noticed that in the Building Gotham trailer his teleportation seemed to vary in duration - sometimes 8 and sometimes 6.

That's probably upradabable in the same manner as Nightwing's glider.

Cheers Amazon UK.

Gotham Knights releases on PC, Xbox and PlayStation on October 25 and it's Collector's Edition book will release on the same day.
