Happy N7 Day!

Happy what now?

Anyone could be forgiven for being unaware of this one - we were - but it's the day Bioware celebrate their Mass Effect computer roleplaying game series, which has long been one of the more popular in the sci-fi genre.

They're interesting for having built a huge following with original source material, i.e. not based on written or film works. Rather, the game has spawned books and comics.

So anything special about the day?

Some sales - which were just for that day.

Statistics for story choices made by players. The series is famous for allowing players to make substantial story choices.

The original trilogy was very popular but their most recent offering, Mass Effect: Andromeda, much less so.

Combat gameplay and improved flexibility was generally appreciated but the story was widely reported as being weak.

Sales were poor and fairly early on they abandoned future development plans for it.

Instead they rereleased the trilogy and teased a new game.

In that teasing spirit, for N7 Day they also released a new image via Twitter.
