Last Dragon

HBO's upcoming zombie apocalypse drama The Last of Us starring Games of Thrones' Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey just upped the dragon factor in their trailer.

Ending with a giant reptilian thing climbing out of a pit. We don't want to say lizard because its front feet look more like human hands.

Still.

Dragon.

Didn't expect that.

Having not played the games this series is based on, we're unfamiliar with the local nasties, but its wiki only lists humanoid infected, as they're called.

Nothing beastly.

Possibly this is one of the more advanced infested which they've just made look vaguely draconic in this scene.

Or they've whipped up something new.

With AMC's excellent The Walking Dead having ended and none of its current spinoffs (more are in development) having struck as strong a cord with viewers, the series is also perfectly timed to potentially pick up the zombie whacking crowd.

Though the zombies hereabouts are far more exotic.

Possible dragon zombies aside, the trailer promises quality drama.

Our appetite is whet.

We hope the series delivers.

The Last of Us will premiere on Binge and Foxtel on January 16.
