Nebulous Fleet Command

An upcoming indie space real time strategy game you might not be aware of is Nebulous: Fleet Command which is being developed by a Navy officer.

Graphically it looks dated compared to other 3D space titles but it is still in development and beneath the surface is an impressive depth of gameplay that could have great appeal to fans of shows like The Expanse.

Its technologies all seem relatively near future, the strategy detailed and realistic and its systems much less abstracted than typical games.

There are no healthbars; every ship is held together by its armor and its components. All armor damage is positional, meaning hits to undamaged areas will face the full weight of the armor plating. The armor protects the soft, critical interior components and the ship's crew who will fight frantically to keep the ship operational. Damage control teams will move from compartment to compartment, repairing damage where they can according to a module's criticality and the player's priorities.

Plus stealth, electronic warfare, fully customisable fleets and also mod support.

Most space RTS's include a building / economic management component but don't expect that here.

Skip the economy management: you're here to dominate in battle.

Nebulous: Fleet Command releases in Early Access on Steam on February 12.
