Via Twitter Amazon have released a short and cryptic teaser for their upcoming series, Paper Girls.

Based on a popular, acclaimed and award winning comic book series by Brian K. Vaughan.

The series premise seems simple:

Paper Girls follows four young girls who, while out delivering papers on the morning after Halloween in 1988, become unwittingly caught in a conflict between warring factions of time-travelers, sending them on an adventure through time that will save the world. As they travel between our present, the past, and the future - they encounter future versions of themselves and now must choose to embrace or reject their fate. 

But if we're reading this correctly, it goes it a bit Catch 22.

The girls learn that the teenagers are time travelers from the distant future, who are engaged in an ongoing war with a group known as the "Old-Timers" (known as "The Battle of the Ages"). At the center of this conflict is the question of whether or not the past can and should be changed by future time travelers.

Throughout the series, the girls are frequently (and usually, inadvertently) time-displaced, traveling between the 20th and 21st centuries, as well as eras of the distant past and future. As they travel through time, they encounter future versions of themselves and are forced to come to terms with who they will later become. Their lives also become intertwined with those of Wari and Jahpo, two "Old-Timers" who lead the war against their future descendants.

To reject their future selves who favour and are at war to change the past, their present selves would need do what their future selves advocate. Change events.

To preserve the course of history, the girls would have to accept becoming people they might not like.

How deliciously thought-provoking.

The series doesn't yet have a release date but accompanying the teaser was a message indicating it's coming soon to Prime Video.
