Perfectly Imperfect
Posted By:

During their Geeked Week event in June Netflix surprised everyone with a new series which hadn't originally been on their schedule for this year - The Imperfects.

They've now dropped its trailer which includes a release date just little over a week away.

Last month What's on Netflix reported they had intel pointing to a September 8 release so it might not be a complete surprise to everyone.

But it is highly unusual to leave an official announcement about a release date so late.

Just like pulling that extra Sandman episode out of their pocket.

Netflix are up against stiff competition this month with new Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings and Star Wars series on other streaming services.

Their PR department might be in overdrive.

What do we think of the trailer?

Looks good.

We only recognise one of its cast - Rekha Sharma from the Battlestar Galactica reboot and Another Life.

So seems a bit light on celebrity power.

One of its showrunners, Dennis Heaton, has come fresh from the short lived The Order, another Netflix series.

Which was ok, though a little soapy, and maybe also lacking in the special effects department.

If we're thinking of the right series, there was one character in particular who took every opportunity to snap her fingers to magically open and shut doors.

Might have looked cool on Bewitched last century but now not so much.

More tragic really.

That said, the special effects in this trailer look much more impressive.

Did one voice in that trailer sound like it had a bit of an ozzie twang?

Indeed it did, courtesy of ozzie comedian Rhys Nicholson who plays the resident evil mad scientist who kicks the story off.

After undergoing an experiment that gives them monstrous side effects, Abbi, Tilda and Juan join forces to find the scientist responsible - and a cure.

The Imperfects releases on Netflix on September 8.
