Shatner In Space
Posted By:

Spaceflight Now reports that William Shatner will fly into space on October 12 on Blue Origin's New Shephard. This will be its second passenger flight.

He won't be the first actor in space. Russian actress Yulia Peresild will be on her way to the ISS with a film director this Tuesday.

But he will set a new record for oldest man in space at 90 years.

It isn't known how much if anything Shatner paid for his ticket. As sci-fi celebrity royalty and space exploration advocate, Blue Origin might regard his trip as great PR.

We only know that one of the other passengers received their ticket as a gift, paid for with a $28 million (US) charity auction bid.
