Apple series Wool starring Dune's Rebecca Ferguson (Jessica Atreides) has been renamed Silo and given a May 5 release date.

Originally named for the book on which it is based, probably there's a very clever reason underlying it.

In a ruined and toxic future, thousands live in a giant silo deep underground. After its sheriff breaks a cardinal rule and residents die mysteriously, engineer Juliette (Rebecca Ferguson) starts to uncover shocking secrets and the truth about the silo.

Super easy to see the silo connection.

Wool?

Perhaps the shocking truth is that they're actually slave labourers in a giant Ugg boot factory.

Doesn't seem likely but without peeking at the book it's adapted from (we haven't) that's the best we could do.

The teaser?

It looks like a polished production but as an older consumer of science fiction, the everything-you-believed-to-be-true turning out to be a lie is something we've seen before.

More than once.

Not expecting to be truly "shocked" by this secret but are hoping for a solid sci-fi drama.

Silo's first two episodes premiere on May 5 on Apple TV+.
