September 8 is Star Trek Day and there will be a livestreamed special event commencing locally on September 9 at 3 a.m. AEST.

Their schedule covers all of the current TV shows and a tribute to Nichelle Nichols. No mention of the stuck in development hell Star Trek film or other new series previously announced to be in development like Starfleet Academy.

Though it would be dreadfully boring to include every detail in a schedule.

At the very least we're expecting them to dish up a release date for the second half of animated series Prodigy's first season.

Though Paramount have made mistakes with the franchise we give them two thumbs up for Prodigy and choose to be optimistic about at least its future.

If you're looking for a modern Star Trek fix, the new series are spread across multiple streamers here in Australia.

Paramount+ have Discovery, Strange New Worlds and Prodigy.

Binge also have Prodigy.

Prime Video have Picard and Lower Decks.
