Star Wars & Oz Politics

It's an interminably slow news week courtesy of a few of the big players dominating the field so please forgive us for sinking into the murky realms of politics.

The Australian Labor Party yesterday tweeted three Star Wars themed campaign images to coincide with the Star Wars May the 4th (as in may the force with be you) celebrations.

One, two, three.

Forty-eight thousand Australians recorded "Jedi" as their religion on the 2016 census and a vote's a vote, right?

One

We're not sure that copy / pasting Anthony Albanese's face over a Jedi's was a winning move.

It's not clear which Jedi he's meant be, though the presence of R2 would suggest Anakin much more than Obi-Wan.

Sky question the wisdom of portraying your party's leader as a character who is on the verge of embracing evil.

Gotta give that one to the right.

And Anakin went all in on the evil.

Slaughtered all of the Jedi in the temple, including the children.

Two

Lando Calrissian with:

This deal is getting worse all the time.

Sure.

Though paired specifically with flat wages?

Lando wasn't a worker. He ran Cloud City and would have been paying the workers.

Generously?

We can't say for sure but in business the norm is typically to pay as little as you can get away with.

This also might be a miss.

Three

The debt star?

Not bad but maybe Morrison could have been in a Palpatine style hood?

Though possibly that would have made him look even a tiny bit cool - a good hood can do that for anyone - and that's not the goal.
