Star Wars Sweeps Saturns

The 46th annual Saturn Awards for science-fiction, horror and fantasy film and television were presented on the 26th.

Star Wars performed strongly with seven wins. The Rise of Skywalker was eligible courtesy of the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films extending the eligibility period.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

  • Best Science Fiction Film Release
  • Best Film Director (J J Abrams)
  • Best Film Music (John Williams)
  • Best Film Make Up (Amanda Knight and Neal Scanlan)
  • Best Film Special / Visual Effects (Roger Guyett, Neal Scanlan, Patrick Tubach, and Dominic Tuohy)

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

  • Best Animated Series on Television

The Mandalorian

  • Best Television Presentation (under 10 Episodes)

Star Trek nabbed three.

Star Trek: Discovery

  • Best Science Fiction Television Series
  • Best Supporting Actor on Television (Doug Jones as Saru)

Star Trek: Picard

  • Best Actor on Television (Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard)

There were also several wins in the superhero department.

The Boys

  • Best Superhero Adaptation Television Series

The Flash

  • Best Supporting Actress on Television (Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow / Frost)

Stargirl

  • Best Performance by a Younger Actor on a Television Series (Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore / Stargirl)

Supergirl

  • Best Guest Performance on a Television Series (Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor)
