Stargate Timekeepers Beta
Posted By:

During their Home of Wargamers event, publisher Slitherine revealed that they're aiming for upcoming tactical roleplaying game Stargate: Timekeepers to launch a public beta coinciding with the 25th Anniversary of Stargate: SG1.

Which first aired on July 27, 1997.

Does anyone else feel old? And also deprived.

Stargate - which we take to include SG-1 and Atlantis but definitely not Universe - has been AWOL for far too long.

Quite possibly they were hoping to launch the game to coincide with the anniversary but the unpredictability of game development always makes pinning down a release date tricky.

They're wisely not even committing to the public beta going live at that time.

It's just an aim.

Previous attempts to make Stargate games have not fared well and we can't know that this one will do it justice.

But it's nice to see the franchise still being actively developed in any sense and also celebrating the anniversary.

Stargate: Timekeepers is expected to launch this year on PC.
