Deadline report that while no deal has been signed yet, Amazon are in talks to host the live action film adapation of the 1980's cartoon series which featured the titular giant robot.

This could be a double blow for Netflix.

Netflix is home for the 2016 animated reboot Voltron: Legendary Defender.

Netflix's current top original movie is Rawson Marshall Thurber's Red Notice.

He is writing Red Notice sequels and set to direct them, but also co-write and direct the Voltron film.

If Amazon make this deal and can get it into production first, they could signficantly delay what would likely be a very popular pair of films for Netflix.
