Westworld S5?
Posted By:

In an interview with Deadline, Westworld creators and showrunners Johnathon Nolan and Lisa Joy have confirmed that we still haven't seen the ending they have in mind.

If you've not watched this season's finale yet, avoiding spoilers, it ends on a cleverly ambiguous note which could serve as a satisfying ending while still teasing the possibility of more.

Westworld's season 4 ratings slumped and we attribute that at least in part to a weaker third season.

Season 4 picks up and also ends well.

Again avoiding spoilers, what they tease for the fifth and final season could end much better though.

Back before the rise of streaming we'd have confidently predicted Westworld's cancellation based purely on viewing numbers which for season remained below 400, 000.

Now we're not so sure.

If Nolan and Joy can deliver the fifth season they've teased and of the same quality as the fourth, it has the potential to round out the series into a classic which could pick up new viewers and be enjoyed far into the future.

Will Warner Bros. who are in heavy cost-slashing mode be willing to roll those dice?

That's the question.

The first four seasons of Westworld are streaming on Binge and Foxtel Now.
