In a short interview with Space.com, Maxwell Jenkins who plays Will Robinson in Lost in Space has confessed to being a die-hard sci-fi fan even before the show, and keen to get himself into space for real or even Mars.

Like many others he is amazed by the commencement of civilian space flights.

He also shared his thoughts on the kind of people he'd like to go into space with.

I think valuing, you know, test scores over the quality of a human is never the right way to do things. I think if anybody is going to go to space ... I would put my life in the hands of somebody who has empathy and is kind and values human life over a test score.

That would only apply to Virgin Galactic and their human pilots. SpaceX and Blue Origin use automated flight systems.

The third and final season of Lost in Space releases on Netflix on December 1.
