Last week fantasy author Brandon Sanderson made headlines by revealing that during COVID lockdown he'd managed to write four extra novels and promptly rocketed to Kickstarter's top funded project with a plan to self-publish. Presently $36 million (AU) and several weeks yet to go.

Sci-fi roleplaying video game John Carter: Warlord of Mars'  is not enjoying the same kind of success. With a goal of $750 thousand (AU) they presently only have $8 thousand.

Free Guy and The Adam Project director Shawn Levy is in negotiations to direct Deadpool 3.

This news comes just a few days after 20th Century Studios President Steve Asbell announced that a Free Guy 2 script was "days away".

Disney have released a teaser for upcoming limited series Obi-wan and while we're of the opinion that the franchise is in a very bad place right now, this gets the spirit and tone of Star Wars very right.

This category is open to any made-for-TV sci-fi series, miniseries or movie (including animation) that was commercially available to Australian audiences during 2021 on broadcast, pay T-V, subscription or other online service. 

Ok this one isn't really sci-fi but it's adjacent and we think potentially of interest to sci-fi fans.

The animated film in question of questionable sci-fi credentials is Apollo 10 1/2: A Space Age Childhood and Netflix have released its trailer.

Netflix have announced a season two premiere date of April 20 for Russian Doll accompanied by a short trailer.

If you're not familar with it, it's one of those time-looping deals.

Warner Bros. have released a Batman trailer for their upcoming and freshly delayed to July animated comedy, DC League of Super-Pets.

It's better than their previous trailer. These jokes might not send you flying out of your chair with laughter but they all land.

Because of competition for limited visual effects post-production capabilities in the post COVID revival, Warner Bros. have delayed several big DC titles.
