Sony have released the official trailer for Morbius - though much of the footage is the same as shown in earlier teasers.

Vampires? That's not sci-fi!

Generally we'd agree but this is both part of the Marvel superhero universe and rather than some ancient pale guy mooning over an awestruck teenage girl, he's a biochemist whose attempts to cure himself go a little bit sideways.

Though this film isn't by Marvel Studios and he might not be a hero.

Also potentially of interest to sci-fi fans, yes that is Doctor Who's Matt Smith seen briefly in the trailer who will play the primary antagonist.

Morbius is due in Australian cinemas on January 20, 2022.
