Ahead of the expansion itself, Bungie have released their launch trailer for Destiny 2's The Witch Queen.

It has flash, sizzle, music with a great beat and no, no, no that's absolutely not a "lightsaber" towards the end.

Though yeah. Looks it. And that's what everyone is calling it.

We're guessing it's one possible look for their new glaive weapons introduced with this expansion.

Which isn't a saber or sword. It's a combination melee / shield / projectile weapon.

So very definitely not a lightsaber but trailer released on the same day as Star Wars The Old Republic's latest expansion and trailer.

The Witch Queen expansion launches on February 22 on PC, Xbox and Playstation.
