AMC Axe Another

Last month AMC cancelled Moonhaven, after it had originally been hailed a great success and renewed for a second season.

Now they've also axed first season still in production sci-fi comedy / drama Demascus, which we recall sounding rather promising when announced.

Demascus follows Demascus, a 33-year-old Black man on a mission of self-discovery and the burgeoning field of digital psychiatry that might be the key to defining his truest self. The series is a comedic, genre-fluid, coming-of-age story with a reality-bending premise that explores the gulf between Black male perspectives, while also attempting to answer Demascus’ personal question: “Who am I?”

On the other hand, AMC+ is in the realm of one-too-many subscriptions in our world.

We already struggle to keep up with the sci-fi on our other subscriptions, and that's largely excluding prolific television franchises like Star Wars, Star Trek and Marvel.

There's no official word but Deadline suggest that its production company, AMC Studios, could shop this one around to other providers.

So this cancellation could work in our and possibly also the show's favour.

We won't take our eye off this one just yet and will let you know if we see it's been rescued.
