Star Trek Surprise

If you were surprised by the recent announcement that Paramount were planning to enter negotiations with cast for the eternally trapped in development Star Trek 4, you're not alone.

According to The Hollywood Reporter most of the actors and their representatives didn't know this was coming - that they'd be shooting a film this year.

Prodigy on Binge

As part of their mid january multi-series announcement, Paramount included a detail in Star Trek: Prodigy's footnote which we didn't fully appreciate.

That it was coming to Nickelodeon international (i.e. outside of the US) channels.

Star Trek 4 Negotiations

During a Parmount Investors Day presentation, J. J. Abrams announced that they are planning to enter negotiations with the original Enterprise cast of the reboot films.

That's Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho and Simon Pegg. Anton Yelchin who played Checkov died in 2016.

Starfleet Academy Series

Paramount are developing a new Star Trek series, Starfleet Academy.

Other than being set where you'd expect from the title, there are no details at this early stage, but their hope is to begin work on it this year.

Star Trek: Picard may be wrapping up after season 3, but in the interim it's business as usual and StarTrek.com have released a dozen new pictures promoting season 2.

There's no big reveals and several appear familar from scenes shown in their recent trailer but some look new.

Picard No More

In an interview with SFX Magazine, as reported by SlashFilm, Patrick Stewart has confirmed that season 3 will be Star Trek: Picard's last.
