Epic Spanking

Epic Games has been spanked by the US Federal Trade Commission to the tune of half a billion US dollars.

A settlement was reached whereby Epic will pay a $275 million fine and $245 million in refunds to customers tricked by "illegal dark patterns".

Lost Between Worlds

The Far Cry first person shooter franchise has just done something slightly unusual though not entirely out of character.

Far Cry 6 is set on a fictional Caribbean island and isn't sci-fi. But it's getting a very sci-fi DLC called Lost Between Worlds.

The developers of upcoming space adventure game Deliver Us Mars have announced a launch delay from September 27 to February 2, 2023.

Citing the entirely usual and expected reason of wanting the game to be its best.

Just like the excessively slow and abundant rock climbing in their extended gameplay trailer, this one didn't fill us with glee.

CDPR Gets Unreal

Today CD Projekt Red announced that a new Witcher game is in development. The Witcher is great - but fantasy - and they had previously indicated the possibility of a new game in The Witcher universe so this isn't a surprise.

Surprise comes in the form of their using Epic's Unreal Engine 5 to develop the game rather than their own proprietary REDengine.
