This week is the first of the technical categories for the Ion Sci-Fi Screen Awards. Best Production, TV recognises the achievements of the production team behind a TV series.
Viewership monitoring company Nielsen have published their data for 2022 and Netflix sci-fi series Stranger Things (all 34 episodes) took two crowns - most streamed original and most streamed overall program with 52 billion minutes.
Other strong sci-fi performers were Amazon series The Boys and Netflix series The Umbrella Academy, earning 11th and 13th positions for original programs.
To celebrate this year's Stranger Things day (November 6), Netflx have re-released the previously free-to-play and supported by microtransactions Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales.
As a Netflix exclusive (i.e. Netflix subscription required) and minus microtransactions.
With Stranger Things now being bigger than Star Wars and Netflix spending a whopping 30 million per episode this season, it's understandable that they'd devote an entire day of their exploration of upcoming genre content Geeked Week on the single series.
We don't have enough time to watch the full two and a half hours stream, but we've watched the new trailer for part 2 of season 4 which looks very exciting.
