The fourth installment of demon-hunting RPG game Diablo releases next week.

The new version is set 50 years after the events of Diablo 3, which developer Blizzard thinks will open the game up to new players who haven’t played previous versions in the now 26 year old franchise.

In an interview with GamesRadar Diablo GM Rod Fergusson said players can expect a more inclusive experience.

“When you watch Diablo 2 or even Diablo 3, we have these beautiful pre-rendered cinematics, but… we can't put you in the scene. In Diablo 4, because we use real-time cinematics for the most part, we can put your character in. And now the story is about you.”

That inclusivity also extends to the available player customisations, with more options for ethnicity, body type, facial structure and decorative touches like body paint or piercings.

The exact date release date will depend on how you purchase the game. Early access is June 1-2 while pre-ordered is June 5-6, available on Xbox One & XS, Playstation 4 & 5, and PC via Battle.net.
