A trailer has dropped for the second game in the remade Final Fantasy VII trilogy.

Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth follows Cloud Strife and his team as they’ve left Midgar and are pursuing Sephiroth across Gaia. The trailer suggests this mission will be open-world.

Red XIII will be fully-playable and Yuffie has joined as a member of the team.

Rebirth was due later this year but studio Square Enix has been delayed the release 2024. It will be coming on two discs suggesting something big, which may help explain the delay.

The only platform confirmed for release is PS5.
