Much anticipated sci-fi series 3 Body Problem hits screens this week, with early reviewers already concerned it's "too much".

The series follows a group of strangers coming together across multiple timelines to prevent the destruction of mankind by a mysterious alien race, whose attention may have been caught by a signal sent from a lab in China during the 60s.

Previous teasers have focussed on particular members of the group and their perspective of unfolding events, but the final trailer reveals more of the mindbending storyline.

After an early premiere at the SXSW Film & TV Festival initial reviews are mixed, with critics describing the first episodes as too slow and overcomplicated for 2024 audiences. While hardly surprising given the source material - Cixin Liu’s novels - series creators David Benioff and D.B.Weiss (Game of Thrones) and Alexander Woo (True Blood) know how to tell a story and are reportedly already working on a second season.

For those of us not at SXSW earlier in the month, 3 Body Problem hits Netflix March 2.
