A trailer has been released for Lisa Frankenstein, an eighties take on Mary Shelley’s classic novel.
The coming-of-age horror comedy is set in 1989 an follows a lonely high school science student – Lisa - who reanimates the corpse of a handsome victorian teen with the help of a broken tanning bed. The pair have to take increasingly desperate measures to ensure the survival of her patchwork creation in what director Zelda Williams describes as a “the most bonkers, wonderful zombie script I’ve ever read”.
The film is the directorial debut for Williams, the daughter of late comedic legend Robin Williams. It stars Kathryn Newton (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Qauntumania) as Lisa and Riverdale’s Cole Sprouse as the monster.
Lisa Frankenstein hits cinemas February 9, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
