Aquaman returns to cinemas next month with a new trailer revealing more of what to expect.

Bad guy Black Manta has got his hands on the mythical black trident, enabling him to wield enough power to threaten Atlantis and its royal family, including the latest addition to the royal line baby Junior.

The threat is so serious that Aquaman is forced to team up with his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis.

Jason Momoa is back in the title role along with most of the cast from the first movie. Even Amber Heard is back as Mera, Queen of Atlantis despite swirling rumours that she’d been dropped. Patrick Wilson returns as Orm and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II reprises his role as Black Manta.

Australian director James Wan is also back at the helm for what will be the last film before new DC Studios boss James Gunn’s vision for the DCU takes effect.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be in cinemas December 22.
