It’s not the series reboot fans have long waited for, but a trailer for animated feature Babylon 5: The Road Home has been released.

It follows John Sheridan – voiced by original actor Bruce Boxleitner – who gets caught in an accident that sees him to travel through alternate timelines as he struggles to return to his own reality.

The screenplay is the work of franchise creator J. Michael Straczynski and most of the original Babylon 5 cast have returned to voice their characters, including different versions of themselves encountered during Sheridan’s journey through the multiverse.

This is the seventh feature film in the franchise and the first to be animated.

Babylon 5: The Road Home will be released straight to home media on disc and VOD by studio Warner Bros on August 15.
