The fifth and final season of Star Trek Discovery hits screens next week. 

It promises an emotional farewell for Discovery’s crew as well as plenty of action, with the writers having apparently given the series a fitting send-off. 

Captain Burnham and crew go on the hunt for “…an ancient power whose very existence has been deliberately hidden for centuries.” Naturally the crew of the Discovery aren’t the only ones on the hunt, facing “…dangerous foes who are desperate to claim the prize for themselves and will stop at nothing to get it.” 

Once the final ten episodes are aired it will leave Strange New Worlds as the only live-action Star Trek series in production, although a new Starfleet Academy series has been green-lit by CBS Studios. 

Star Trek: Discovery season five premieres on Paramount+ April 4.
