We’ve finally been given a look at Ncuti Gatwa’s first full season as Doctor Who. 

Picking up from the events of the holiday specials, there are plenty of costume changes ahead as the TARDIS visits Bridgerton and London’s swinging sixties, not to mention dropping in on the dinosaurs. The trailer is light on actual plot details but it becomes evident that Gatwa will be playing his Doctor as relentlessly upbeat. 

We also catch a glimpse at some of the season’s villains including drag queen Jinx Monsoon, who is giving a musical look in which we later see companion Ruby Sunday entangled. 

Doctor Who season one – the season count was apparently reset as part of the BBC’s deal with Disney – premieres internationally on Disney+ May 10.
