The BBC have dropped teaser pics on Twitter ahead of Doctor Who’s return later this year.

It seems it’s not just the TARDIS but the wardrobe that will be going time travelling, with pics showing Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor and his companion Ruby Sunday in distinctive sixties-era clothing. The series first went to air in the swinging sixties so this may be a reference to its upcoming 60th anniversary.

The period threads won’t be the fifteenth Doctor’s regular outfit, which the BBC has already released. It’s a natty brown Prince of Wales check ensemble.

Other pics show guest star Jinkz Monsoon in costume, with her character described as “…the Doctor’s most powerful enemy yet!”. That’s a pretty bold claim, given the competition includes cybermen, daleks and The Master.  

Doctor Who is back in November with three anniversary specials which will be available on Disney+.
