Star Wars series have picked up 22 nominations at this years Emmys, including major categories Outstanding Drama Series for Andor and Outstanding Limited Series for Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Although there were no acting nominations for the franchise this year, Andor also scored writing and music nominations.

Overall The Mandalorian picked up nine nominations, Andor received eight and five went to Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Unfortunately nominations are notoriously tricky for sci-fi series to convert into actual awards, with The Mandarlorian scoring nominations for Outstanding Drama Series in 2020 and 2021 without a win.

Despite not picking up a nomination for his work on The Mandarlorian, Pedro Pascal still scored three: Outstanding Lead in a Drama Series for The Last of Us, outstanding Guest for his appearance on SNL and Outstanding Narrator for his CNN doco on Patagonia.

This year’s Emmys have not been as kind to Star Trek, with only two nominations in makeup categories for Picard – the lowest for the franchise since 2018.
