A trailer has been released for the next installment in George Miller’s Mad Max series.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga digs into the formative years of Furiosa, the character played by Charlize Theron in Fury Road. Anya Taylor-Joy plays the younger Furiosa, who is snatched by a great biker horde led by the Warlord Dementus, played by Chris Hemsworth. She battles to survive long enough to find her way home through the wasteland.

The events of this movie lead up to Furiosa meeting Max Rockatansky - Mad Max himself - in Fury Road. Presumably we’ll also find out how she lost her arm and ended up with a prosthetic.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is due in cinemas May 2024.
