Paramount+ have released a first look at season two of Halo.

The video game spinoff had a rocky first season, with fans concerned the series took liberties with the game’s lore and didn’t have enough focus on action between the spartans and the Covenant. The second season appears to address this, with the teaser suggesting more epic battles are on the way.

There are a few notable plot elements to resolve after the first season’s finale which the teaser doesn’t shed much light on, although it is known that Master Chief will set across the galaxy to locate the Halo and the teaser shows what appears to be a Halo ring. In the meantime events on a desolate planet raise fears the Covenant is about to attack Reach, a human stronghold.

The returning cast from season one will be joined intelligence operative James Ackerson (played by Joseph Morgan) and new recruit Talia Perez (played by Cristina Rodlo), a linguistics specialist.

Halo Season 2 premieres on Paramount+ February 8.
