As the sci-fi news service that provides a perspective for the rest of the world, Ion Sci-Fi is proud to deliver the second annual Ion Sci-Fi Screen Awards (the Ions), which will once again give our viewers the chance to have their say on the sci-fi they like most.

The simplified category format used for the inaugural awards was well received and has been retained. The categories are:

• Best Actor, Televsion
• Best Actor, Film,
• Best Character
• Best of Festival (a collaboration with the Sydney Science Fiction Film Festival)
• Best Production, Television
• Best Production, Film,
• Best Television
• Best Film

Nominations in each category will be made by the awards selection committee, made up of representatives of the Ion Sci-Fi editorial team and industry experts.

The nominations will be released one category per week and the winner decided jointly by Ion Sci-Fi viewers and the committee.

Nominations may include any sci-fi screen content commercially released outside North America between 1 January 2022 and 31 May 2023.

Winners will be announced in a special edition of Ion Sci-Fi in late September after all categories have been announced and voted on.
